ESOL Program Overview:
The English as a Second Language Vocational Program is designed to empower non-native English speakers with the language proficiency and practical communication skills needed for success in the workplace. This program aims to enhance students’ English language abilities in professional contexts, enabling them to pursue vocational and career opportunities confidently.
Program Duration: The program duration may vary but typically ranges from 14 to 16 weeks
Curriculum Highlights:
- Foundational English Skills:
- Development of basic English language skills, including listening, speaking, reading, and writing. There are 5 ESL levels: Pre-beginning, Beginner, Intermediate, advanced, part 1, and part 2.
- Vocabulary Building:
- Expansion of vocabulary relevant to vocational and professional contexts, such as workplace communication and industry-specific terminology.
- Grammar and Sentence Structure:
- Master essential grammar rules and sentence structures to enhance written and verbal communication skills.
- Business Communication:
- Training in professional communication, including writing emails, memos, reports, and participating in meetings.
- Listening and Speaking Proficiency:
- Enhancing oral communication skills through group discussions, presentations, and workplace simulations.
- Reading Comprehension:
- Developing skills in understanding and interpreting written materials, including workplace documents and instructions.

Prerequisites: The prerequisites vary, but they are generally open to individuals with basic proficiency in the English language. The assessment test (TABE) is required for ESL-level Placement.
Certification: Program completion certificate indicating the achieved level of English proficiency.
