Yes, our LIEOC vocational programs are tuition free. Our NYS  tuition-free vocational programs provides students with the opportunity to gain practical skills and training in specific trades or professions without the financial burden of tuition fees. These programs are designed to directly prepare participants for employment in various fields such as healthcare, technology,  GED preparation classes and english as a second language,  among others. Our programs  aim is to create pathways for individuals who may not have the resources for traditional education or who are looking to quickly transition into the workforce with marketable skills.

Tuition-free vocational programs typically focus on hands-on learning and real-world application, with courses led by industry professionals. This practical approach not only enhances learning outcomes but also increases employability upon program completion. Many of these programs also include job placement assistance, further helping graduates secure employment.

There are no residency time requirements for admission to the LIEOC. Any documents issued in your name can be used as proof of NYS residency.

• NYS immigration C-11 status Card.
• New York State DMV Identification.
• Driver's license, learner's permit.
• Non-driver's ID, New York State Benefit card.
• New York State Voter Registration card.
• New York State Vehicle Registration.
• New York State Apartment Lease.
• New York Residential (Shelter) Program letter.
•  The bank statement should include your name and your New York address.
• US-issued refugee documentation with the applicant's name and a New York address.
• I97 Letter or I-797 application papers sent to you.
• New York City—or New York State-issued temporary status card.
• Letter with the applicant's name on it.
• A New York City ID card was issued in the applicant's name
• If you live in New York but don't have any of these documents, you'll speak with a counselor to explore other options for proving New York residency.

• All CNA applicants must have the following: All COVID-19 vaccinations and at least one booster; Flu vaccination (except for summer); and all 'childhood' vaccinations must be up to date.

Proof of 2023 Income (All that Apply):

• Department of Labor ID card.
• Letter 2023 Federal Tax Return (1040, 1040A, or 1040EZ).
• IRS Form 4506-T – filed by applicant or family with the IRS Copy of IRS Letter 1722 indicating that student or parents who claim student did not file a return.
• HRA Cash Assistance Document.
• Current Budget letter 2023 SSA/SSI Documentation.
• Social Security Award letter for the current year, 2023.
• Veterans Administration Disability Benefits letter Unemployment, Pension, Annuity Benefits.
• Workers Compensation letter for 2023 Child Support or Alimony payment stubs for 2023.
• Court ordered or affidavit. Residential.
• Shelter Program Letter 2023.
• I97 or I797 acknowledgment letter US Work Authorization Card with any one of the following statuses: A12, A25, C08, C11

• LIEOC serves adult learners (aged 18 and older), but age requirements may vary. Some programs may be available for younger individuals.
• An interview with a counselor will be required.
• The LIEOC is designed to assist individuals who may not have completed high school or need additional support for academic success. As such, specific educational background requirements may be flexible. See an admission counselor for more information.

• If the program selected requires the student to present an HS diploma or GED, a copy or HS transcript needs to be offered during the initial intake session with the admissions representative.
• Applicants must provide documentation for proof of identity, income, and, if applicable, proof of public assistance.
• A support statement letter will be required if the applicant currently lives with a significant other or legal guardian who is providing financial support. If the applicant just arrived in NY under a refugee program, the applicant would have to demonstrate official documentation from the Department of State / Immigration department. If you do not have any of these documents, please visit us and see a counselor.

• Meet the program-required Placement Test Score " TABE."
• High School Diploma or GED / High School Transcripts.

Note: Applicants who earned over 32 college credits from an accredited higher education institution do not qualify for admission to the EOC Academic or Vocational programs.

The LIEOC assesses the academic skills of incoming students by facilitating a placement test in reading and math.

• The test will be administered to determine the appropriate level of instruction.
• In some instances, applicants may be required to participate in an interview or attend an information session to discuss their educational goals and assess the suitability of EOC programs for their needs.
• If the student is applying for the Digital Visual Media and Web Development WordPress program, an interview with the instructor is required to determine the student's current level of computer literacy.

Daytime classes: Monday and Wednesday or Tuesday and Thursday, 9:00 a.m. to 1:10 p.m.

Evening Classes: Monday and Wednesday or Tuesday and Thursday, 6:00 p.m. to 9:30 p.m.

Online Classes: Provide flexibility in terms of schedule. A PC / Windows or Mac IOS is required. Smartphones or Tables are still a good option, but it is strongly recommended that students use a personal computer. Using a smart device will limit students' ability to complete homework assignments, and they may encounter data plan issues.

In-Person Classes: Students must follow their class schedule with specific class times. In-person instruction provides a more structured time routine at our and Satellite affiliate locations.

All Long Island EOC students must have an EOC email address.

• You will get an email from a GOOGLEWORKSPACE address if you are a new student.
• When you see this email, you must open it immediately and follow the directions to set up your official EOC email address.
• You will receive an email from Google Workspace in the next few days after you complete your registration, so please watch for it!
• Once the email is sent, you will have just 48 hours (two days) to set up your new email address.
• Once the Google Workspace email inbox is accessible, all official EOC class information will be sent to your new @lieoc.farmingdale.edu email address.
